Citizens Bank Presents National Constitution Center With $100k Check

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The charitable arm of an area bank gives a large grant to the National Constitution Center for two special financial-themed program days for Philadelphia school kids. The first of two programs called "building strong citizenship" took place Wednesday.

A group of 8th graders from the Belmont Academy Charter School was on hand when the Citizen Bank Foundation ceremonial check of $100,000 was presented to the CEO of the National Constitution Center David Eisner.

Eisner says 2000 students will be engaged in wall to wall programming on government finance.

"From the role of Alexander Hamilton and the first bank of the United States to America today and the role of fiscal policy in each branch of government and we believe that students are going to be learning the connections between fiscal policy and their role as citizens."

The second building strong citizenship day is scheduled to take place on June 4th.
