Two Invitations From The Norristown Garden Club

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Back in 1913, seven women first got together at one of their homes to swap seeds and share their love of flowers. For nearly 100 years since, The Norristown Garden Club - now numbering nearly 250 members - has met regularly to hold flower shows, organize garden tours and reach out to the community with scholarships to local students and Garden Therapy for area hospitals.

Today, you're invited to two events courtesy of the Norristown Garden Club:

A small standard flower show this afternoon from 1 to 5:30 pm at the Church on the Mall at Plymouth Meeting Mall; followed at the same location this evening by a presentation from Drew Becher - the new President of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. He'll talk about the 'Future of Greening,' as PHS's Philadelphia Green programs stand as one of our nation's leading urban revitalization efforts.

Both today's flower show and the talk at 7 PM are free and open to the public.
