Man Left Unconscious After Violent Attack In Old City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for several suspects who left a man unconscious after a violent attack that was caught on tape in a popular nightlife district.

The incident happened April 30 at about 2 a.m. in the 100 block of Chestnut Street in the Old City section of Philadelphia.

According to investigators, the incident began when a 27-year-old male left the Mad River Bar located at 126 Chestnut Street.

As the victim entered the E-Z Park lot located at 100 Chestnut Street, surveillance video captured a group of four males punching and kicking the victim.

As the attack stopped momentarily, one the suspects is seen walking up to the victim and punching him. The victim fell to the ground and was knocked unconscious as a result of the violent punch. He suffered a broken jaw, a fractured left orbital bone and six stitches to his forehead.

The suspects eventually fled the scene as the victim was assisted by a witness.

It was not immediately known what started the violent altercation.

The first suspect is described as a white male, in his mid 20's, with dark hair and he was wearing a black t-shirt with light pants. The second suspect is described as a white male, in his 20's, with dark hair and he was wearing a light-colored shirt and pants. The third suspect is described as a white male, also in his 20's and he wearing a black t-shirt with white sleeves and a red hat. A description of the fourth suspect was not released by police.
