Philadelphia Soul To Hold Practice On Market Street

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Soul, the city's Arena Football team, is hosting a most unusual practice Thursday afternoon, and they hope you show up.

Vice President and COO of the Philadelphia Soul, John Adams, explains, "We're going to try something that has never been done before. We're shutting down Market Street between 16th and 17th and we're going to have a Philadelphia Soul practice."

Adams says before every game there is a walk through practice and that's just what the players will be doing.

"We're bringing in a flatbed truck that is going to have a sound system on it. We're going to have a live microphone hooked up to the coach. We're going to set up our inflatable walls to simulate the dasher boards in a game."

Adams says they have just 20 minutes to set-up, beginning at 11:40 a.m. Practice is noon to 1 p.m. He hopes it brings back fond memories for the scores of Philadelphians who played football on the city streets.
