Fist Fight Escalates Into Shooting In Southwest Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Two men are in critical condition after a fist fight escalated into a gun battle in Southwest Philadelphia late Monday evening.

The incident happened shortly before midnight at 48th Street and Kingsessing Avenue.

According to investigators, the altercation started as an argument between the two men. The men apparently agreed to meet at the location to have a fist fight.

However, police say the fist fight quickly escalated into a gun fight between the two men.

One of the men was shot six times, while the other was shot once in the back.

Both were rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where they are listed in critical condition.

The incident remains under police investigation.
