Chester County Students Take Home Championship For Anti-Drug Announcement Contest
PHOENIZVILLE, Pa. (CBS) - For the third time in four years, a local middle school has come out as a Pennsylvania state champion in an anti-drug announcement contest.
Two eighth graders from Phoenixville Area Middle School in Chester County have written and recorded the winning radio public service announcement for the Drug Free Pennsylvania Contest. Brennigan Myers says it was a class project, but for him, telling his friends about the dangers of drugs is personal.
"Two of my friends died in a car accident while they were on drugs. That had a big impact on me."
Austin Walsh was shocked they won.
"It's really good, I didn't expect it, but I'm honored."
The project is designed to teach students about writing and media production
