Gloucester Community College President Russell Davis Resigns
SEWELL, N.J. (CBS) - Trustees at Gloucester County College have accepted the sudden resignation of the school's President amid suggestions of financial impropriety.
Dr. Russell Davis actually quit last week, shortly after it was revealed that the college had conducted an internal probe of his financial practices. Trustee chairman Gene Concordia.
"Information was presented to me and I contacted the appropriate individuals and our counsel and it went from there," trustee chairman Gene Concordia said.
The Gloucester County prosecutor is now looking into things.
Concordia declined to get into specifics, and no charges have been filed, but students and faculty in attendance at a special meeting last night expressed dismay at Davis's departure and displeasure with the publicity around the situation.
The board will conduct a search for an interim president while the school provost John Henzy takes the reigns for now. Some suggest he should be promoted.
