PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A carjacking suspect was taken into custody after leading Philadelphia police on a chase early Monday morning.

The incident started at about 8:30 a.m. when the suspect pulled a woman out of her car near Market and Strawberry Streets in Old City.

Police chased the car for several blocks, but they eventually ended up losing sight of the stolen car.

Eventually an officer spotted the car at 5th and Poplar Streets in the city’s Northern Liberties section. The driver tried to flee the scene, but he ended up crashing.

Police were then able to take the suspect into custody.

There were no reports of any injuries.
