Art And Science Meet At Philadelphia Science Festival

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A new exhibit for the upcoming Philadelphia Science Festival combines the beauty of both art and science.

The exhibit, Science Made Clear, initially looks like images of abstract art lined up along the white walls of the TRUST gallery at 3rd and Arch Streets.

The images are all numbered, with no text, so at first, you don't know what you're looking at.  Then when you look at the accompanying pamphlet, you find out the striking images are actually of bacteria, and molecules and research into nanotechnology.

"There are three images which are really close up views of a leaf but they're blown up very large and they become these beautiful veins and the colors," said Laura Krasnow, co-curator.

The images were created by Temple's Institute for Computational Molecular Science and will be in the TRUST gallery through April 28th.
