Poll: Slight Majority In New Jersey Approve Of Obama
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- A new poll indicates most registered voters in New Jersey surveyed approve of President Barack Obama's job performance.
But 57 percent of those questioned in the Fairleigh Dickinson-PublicMind poll out Thursday believe the country is on the wrong track.
The poll found 47 percent of respondents approved of Obama while 42 percent disapproved. That's down from the last FDU poll in February, when 54 percent approved of the president and 36 percent disapproved.
Respondents also were asked about U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez, with 28 percent holding a favorable opinion of the Democrat, while 19 percent viewed him unfavorably. Meanwhile, 52 percent said they had no opinion or hadn't heard of Menendez.
The telephone survey of 711 registered voters was conducted from March 29 to April 4 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
