Suspect Sought In Robberies Of South Jersey Convenience Stores

GLENDORA, N.J. (CBS) - Police in several south Jersey towns are searching for a suspect they believe is responsible for robbing five convenience stores.

The latest incident occurred Monday at about 9:30 p.m. at a 7-Eleven located on West Evesham Road in Glendora, New Jersey.

Police say the suspect brought a drink to the counter and when the cashier opened the cash register, the suspect displayed a large knife and demanded money.

The cashier opened the drawers and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from both registers and then fled on foot towards Station Avenue.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male between 6'0 and 6'2" tall, approximately 20 to 25 years of age, with an unkept scruffy beard. He was wearing a black jacket and a wool hat with a small brim.

Police believe the same suspect committed similar armed robberies in Cherry Hill, Somerdale, Magnolia and Deptford that have occurred over the past few weeks.
