SUV Slams Into Utility Pole In Upper Darby

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) - PECO crews were out early Tuesday morning fixing a utility pole that was slammed into by a driver in Delaware County.

The incident happened shortly after midnight on South State Road in Upper Darby.

According to police, the driver of an SUV initially slammed into the utility pole. Police say the driver then kept going and crashed into an outdoor gas main that leads into an apartment building.

The gas main suffered damage, but there was no major damage to the apartment building.

Crews spent the early morning hours of Tuesday repairing the utility pole and the gas main.

No one was injured during the incident. It was not immediately known if the driver would face any charges.
