Weekend Box Office: Not So 'Wimpy' Debut

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Wimpy, huh? Not Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. Far from it. The middle school comedy sequel finished first at the box office on its debut weekend, earning an estimated $24 million.

That left the weekend's other debuting mainstream attraction in second place.

That would be Sucker Punch, the stylized action thriller from the director of 300 and Watchmen, Zack Snyder. His latest took in $19 million in its debut.

Holdovers Limitless, The Lincoln Lawyer, and Rango held down the next three spots, each making between $10 and $15 million.

Overall, it was a respectable weekend industry-wide, with totals slightly above those of last weekend.
