Philadelphia Based Brewing Company Toasts To Science

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Science Festival has its own specially brewed ale and you can help name it.

Steve Mashington, Yards Brewing Company operations manager, says they decided to go with what they know when they were asked to create a new beer for the Philadelphia Science Festival.

The new Belgian Ale brewed specially for the city's science celebration is a fermented augmented version of its Thomas Jefferson beer.

"It'll have some sweet from the honey in it. It'll have a touch of kind of like dryness from rye. It'll have... I don't know because it's still fermenting!" Mashington said.

The new beer will be tapped and its name released on April 15th, the first official day of the Philadelphia Science Festival.
