AAA Offers New App That Locates Cheaper Gas
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There's a new way to find the cheapest gas station in your area.
These days there's an app for everything and Rick Remington with AAA says nowadays, there's an application for your smart phone that helps you find the best deal on gas.
"It's called the triple A Trip Tik Mobile and it's based on GPS technology. It actually shows maps at area gas stations as well as the prices they charge for various grades of gasoline."
Remington says he expects more and more folks to download this free app as we head towards vacation season.
"And this is particularly helpful when motorists are outside of their neighborhoods, they're on business trips, outside of their usual area, they can find where the cheapest gas prices are."
There's just one restriction.
"We urge motorists not to use this app as they are driving, either give it to a passenger or use it when they are stopped and not driving."
