Delaware State Police Search For 3 Suspects In Teen's Shooting

MAGNOLIA, Del. (CBS) – Delaware State Police rushed to the Meadowbrook Acres Development after reports that a teen boy had been shot early On Saturday morning.

When State Police and emergency medical crews arrived at North Draper Circle, they discovered a 15-year-old male had been shot multiple times. The Camden teen was transported to Kent General Hospital for gun shot wounds to his lung, neck, head and arm. He is currently listed in critical condition.

State Police detectives were told by witnesses that the incident occurred between the victim and three black males. Currently police do not have a motive and are attempting to identify the alleged suspects.

On Saturday morning the victim was approached by three suspects when an altercation ensued. Supposedly, one of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim and pulled the trigger. The suspect attempted to fire the handgun however it initially miss-fired an undetermined number of times. The victim turned to flee, but the suspect was able to discharge a round into his back.

The teenage victim reportedly took cover behind a nearby tree. The three suspects chased the victim, and upon finding he huddled down on the ground, one of the suspects discharged three additional rounds, striking the victim in the head, neck and arm.

The suspects fled the area of Millchop and Stevenson Drive to an unknown destination. The victim was able to make it to an acquaintance's residence, who called 911 at 12:15 a.m.
