Marlton Circle Making Transition To Interchange

MARLTON, N.J. (CBS) - Drivers in South Jersey will find things a little easier this weekend, as work continues to eliminate another dreaded traffic circle in Burlington County.

It's the first phase of the end of the Marlton Circle. By tomorrow morning, northbound drivers on route 73 will be able to use a new overpass across route 70. Getting from 70 east to 73 north will no longer require a left turn but rather a right lane exit ramp.

Traffic on 73 south will begin using the overpass by this winter, which, unfortunately, means one more summer of Friday night hassles for shore bound drivers. NJ DOT spokeswoman Fran McCrory explains.

"Route 73 won't be impeded by coming to a circle or coming to a stop. You're going to be going right over route 70."

The two and a half year, $63 million conversion from circle to interchange is on time and on budget.
