Philadelphia Man Under Arrest After 8-Year-Old Shoots 4-Year-Old

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A 23-year-old Northeast Philadelphia man was expected to be charged today, after his four-year-old son was allegedly shot by his eight-year-old nephew.

Police say the two children were playing video games in the man's house, in the 5000 block of Homestead Street, around 10 AM Saturday.  The man says he heard a pop and found his son in the living room, shot through the pelvic area.

The children allegedly found a loaded gun under the couch, and while playing with it the gun went off.

The four-year-old was taken to the emergency room of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, where he was listed in stable condition.

The father is now facing charges of endangering the welfare of a child, and recklessly endangering another person.
