Four Teens Struck Crossing Street In Ridley Township

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A 52-year-old man is in police custody after he allegedly ran down four teens who were crossing an intersection in Ridley Township, Delaware County Friday night. Two the teens are in critical condition and another is serious.

It happened just after 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Morton Avenue and MacDade Boulevard in the Folsom section of Ridley Township. Detective William Henderson says Tyrone Williams of Darby Township was driving with a suspended license when he blew through a red light.

"(The driver) struck four teenage victims that were crossing in the crosswalk and fled the scene without rendering any aid or information."

Three of the victims were air lifted -- one to Pennsylvania Hospital, two to Children's Hospital -- and another was taken by ambulance to Taylor Hospital. The teens are 14 to 16 years old.

Henderson says the driver's license was suspended for medical reasons and he had no business on the road and he faces a long list of charges.
