Get Ready For The 13th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival In Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The 13th annual Philadelphia cherry blossom festival is underway, and organizers say it's bigger than ever.
Forget DC, Philadelphia has its own beautiful spectacle.
"All along Kelly Drive there are cherry blossoms. And other places that are good are along the Parkway and the Horticulture Center," says Aaron Dilliplane, assistant director of the Japanese American Society of Greater Philadelphia.
"The prime time for cherry blossoms is really late March into early April."
Dilliplane says the festival includes dozens of events all over the area including concerts, auctions, a 5-K run, sushi-making events, films and storytelling.
It runs thru April 15th and you can find out more at subarucherryblossom.org.
