Philadelphia Officer Kills Dog During Narcotics Raid

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia police officer shot and killed a dog after mistakenly going into the wrong house during a raid Wednesday night.

Narcotics officers in West Philadelphia were performing a raid on a home in the 4200 block of Pennsgrove Street when an officer mistakenly entered a nearby house and was attacked by a German Shepherd.

The officer opened fire, killing the dog.

The officer was not seriously injured. The incident remains under investigation.
