<em>Basketball: </em> Temple Women Win Big 5 Crown

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Temple Owls held off St. Joe's at Hagan Arena last night, 52-49, to win the women's Big 5 championship and also pick up a 15th consecutive win.

The Hawks led this game by seven at the half, but the Owls rallied over the second twenty minutes.   Senior Qwedia Wallace hit Temple's only three of the night with 25 second remaining, to give Temple a four-point lead, and St. Joe's would never recover.

Kristen McCarthy led Temple with 16 points, Wallace added 15 as the Owls improve to 22-6 overall, 13-0 in the Atlantic-10 and a perfect 4-0 in the Big 5.

Ashley Prim led St. Joe's with 12 points off the bench.  The Hawks fall to 17-10 and see a five-game winning streak snapped.
