Henon Running For Sixth District Council

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Another candidate for Joan Krajewski's Northeast Philadelphia City Council seat has tossed his hat into the ring.

Bobby Henon, 42, is running for the Sixth District Council seat held for more than three decades by the now-retiring Joan Krajewski.

Henon says in his position as the political strategist for IBEW Local 98, he has helped to create jobs.

"Too many businesses are pulling their stakes up and not putting down their roots in Philadelphia. It's time they bring back family businesses to the City of Philadelphia," said Henon.

The other announced Democrat is Marty Bednarek.

"I can't worry about what somebody else is doing," said Bednarek. "And I can just focus on my own candidacy and what I bring to the table."

Bednarek is president of Washington Savings Association and a former School Reform Commissioner.
