Free HIV/AIDS Testing And Advice

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Monday is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and local organizations are offering free testing and advice.

Mazzoni Center,a LGBT health and wellness center, is one of several organizations offering free rapid testing and counseling for National Black HIV/AIDS awareness day. Counselor Kamilah Clarke said the face of HIV has changed to African-American women, who now account for most of the new HIV infections in Philadelphia and nationwide.

"Come out, get tested. Don't be afraid to take the test," Clarke said. "It doesn't take long at all. Pretty much from the time your finger is pricked, because we do use a blood test, it only takes 12 minutes for your results to come back."

There are screening centers and a mobile testing unit in Philadelphia. For more information you can go the Mazzoni Center's website.
