Elderly Man Uses Cane On Knife-Wielding Burglar
LEWES, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say an 83-year-old man used his cane to fight off a knife-wielding burglar, enabling his wife to flee and call police.
Troopers say about 7:25 p.m. Friday, a man threw a rock through a sliding glass door and broke into the couple's home. The suspect brandished a knife and demanded money. The male victim hit the suspect repeatedly with his cane.
The man continued to fight with the suspect, and his wife was able to flee the home and call police from a nearby home.
No property was taken from the couple's home.
