Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention In Center City This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention is going on all weekend long at the Sheraton at 17th and Race in Center City.

The four tattoo artists from Washington D.C. at Britishink's booth were dressed in 60's attire. Artist Cynthia Rudzis said she does a variety of styles; some over and over again. "People know what other people get. So, if there are a few tattoos that look really good, you can almost guarantee that there will be a trend in that tattoo. We have seen cupcakes, owls, there were the tribal tattoos for years, the tribal armband was huge. Thank goodness I think that's over," Rudzis said.

Many artists at the show won't do certain tattoos. "I won't do any satanic tattoos or any kind of hate, Nazi related tattoos," one artist said. "That's just my personal preference. I feel that's bad for business."

Many artists at the convention say a lot of clients are researching artists' work online. In many cases, they track down the artists at conventions, like at the one in the city this weekend.
