Technology On Display At Atlantic City Boat Show

ATLANTIC CITY (CBS) - Just in time to chase those winter blues – it's the Atlantic City Boat Show at the convention center.

They're not just big toys for big boys, but much, much more.

More than 300 power boats, yachts, fishing boats, and sail boats are on exhibit and for sale here in the convention center. Boats are one thing but accessories, well, that's the key, according to boat show manager Jon Pritko, and that means lots of attention is on electronics.

"Look at all the iPhones and all these different gaming systems, but a lot of the things are integrated now. A lot of these GPS' are chart plotters, fish finders -- and everything's combined," he said. "So the electronics guys here, they're always keeping up to date with that."

Pritko says exhibitors come to the show from across the country and around the globe to take part in the event – one of the largest of its kind on the East Coast. He says showgoers can also learn about boat handling, take part in a fish tale contest, and meet Russell Newberry the deck boss from The Discovery Channel show "Deadliest Catch."

The show runs through Sunday in the Atlantic City Convention Center.
