New Beer Technology To Debut At Flyers Game

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Tired of long beer lines at the game? Well a new tap technology will make its Philadelphia debut at the Flyers game Tuesday night.

It's called the "Bottoms Up Draft Beer Dispensing System," and it can pour beers nine times faster than a typical draft system.

Comcast Spectacor spokesman Ike Richman says, "It's a perfect pour every time, it pours in less than two seconds and you can do multiple cups at multiple times."

Now you may be thinking the last thing a Philadelphia sports fan needs is nine times more beer – but think of how much faster the concession lines would move if they didn't waste all that time pouring beer foam all over themselves.

As the name implies, the cups fill from the bottom up. Richman says it looks like magic, "But what actually happens is at the bottom of every cup is a magnet and the cup is placed on a metal dispenser. And when you press down, the magnet comes up, the beer fills up. When you lift the cup, the magnet comes back down and doesn't allow any spillage."

And here's an advertising opportunity -- that magnet from the bottom can be popped out and saved as a souvenir – just try not to collect too many in one sitting.
