Travel Expert Says 'Vacation' Not 'Staycation' In 2011

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - As we head back to work in the dead of winter, at least some of us may be thinking about getting away on vacation.

Jeanenne Tornatore, Senior Editor at Orbitz.com, has a pretty good idea, from a survey, where people are interested in going. "We expect Vegas to be one of our top U.S. destinations. Half of Americans are planning on taking at least one beach vacation," said Tornatore. "Then on the international front, London (we obviously have the royal wedding in April). We expect Australia to sort of  be that once-in-a-lifetime trip but we think people will actually consider it this year with prices being lower."

However, Tornatore adds that many prices, including those for airfare, won't be lower. She thinks you should think about bundling airline and hotel to get the most value. "You're able to save this way because, airlines and hoteliers, when they have excess inventory, they're willing to bundle that together, and give you great discounts as part of a package," said Tornatore.

Spring and Fall travel is expected to be popular as well as more people try to avoid the summer crush.
