$4K Stolen From Cape May Co. VFW Building

VILLAS, NJ (CBS) - Police in Cape May County are investigating the theft of cash and a safe from a VFW Building early Wednesday morning.

Investigators say the incident happened between 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. at the Villas VFW Building located on East Delaware Parkway.

According to investigators, the suspect(s) pulled the electric meter off of the side of the building in order to disable any security systems in the building prior to the burglary.

While inside the building, the suspects ransacked portions of the building. Cash was removed from two registers inside the building and a small safe was stolen.

Investigators believe that over $4,000 in cash was stolen during the burglary.
