Surgeon Optimistic About Rep. Giffords' Outlook
TUSCON (CBS) - Despite a bullet striking Congresswoman Giffords through the skull, the surgeon caring for her is optimistic about her outlook.
Although Giffords survived surgery, it could be hard to know what the consequences of her injuries may be. Experts say that when you have an injury to the brain, there are both short-term and long-term consequences and many things you can't tell initially.
The good news is doctors believe they achieved their goal with the surgery.
