2 Wounded In Atlantic City Shootings

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - Two men were shot in separate incidents Saturday in Atlantic City, but authorities say it doesn't seem the shootings are connected.

Police say 23-year-old city resident Tyquin James was shot multiple times in the chest around 1:25 p.m. in front of Magellan Manor apartment complex. James had surgery a short time later and was hospitalized in serious condition, but he is expected to fully recover.

Two men were being questioned by police, but no charges have been filed.

The other shooting victim, 18-year-old Shahid Dixon, was wounded around noon in the 500 block of North Indiana Avenue. The bullet shattered Dixon's femur and he was hospitalized in stable condition.

Further details on the incident were not disclosed, but authorities were trying to determine if it was connected to
gunfire that broke out in the same area Friday afternoon.
