SEPTA Adjusts Schedule For Christmas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you're planning to use SEPTA to get around this holiday, be aware the schedules will be different.

On Christmas Eve, SEPTA transit division buses, trolleys, and subways run on a Saturday schedule and the regional rails will run on a Sunday schedule. If you don't know what that means, you can check www.Septa.org for a timetable.

Spokeswoman Jerri Williams says on Christmas Day city transit division lines run on a Sunday schedule and the trains are on a special timetable.

"For each line there'll be a different schedule," she says. "For some that's an hourly schedule, for others it's a 90 minute schedule -- it all depends on the line and how much ridership we believe will be accessing the line that day."

The only ticket offices open both days will be at Market East, Suburban Station and 30th Street.
