Parx Casino Expands With More Table Games

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- Parx Casino, in Bucks County, continues to grow with today's grand opening of another expansion project that adds more table games to the gambling hall and more jobs to the area.

There are not only more table games, but there are new games for gamblers to play inside the "Parx East" building, which is where the racetrack is located.

Parx added 71 table games, bringing to 152 the number of table games in operation in the two buildings. The new games include Pai-Gow, Sic-Bo, and mini-baccarat.

Parx spokeswoman Carrie Minelli says the expansion also means more jobs.

"With this building alone we have added approximately 400 new employees, and most are full time," she said.  "But there are part-time in there as well, and most are dealers.  But it also trickles into every single department."

This latest expansion includes a new restaurant -- the Noodle Bar -- from renowned owner-chef Michael Chow of Sang Kee Restaurant in Philadelphia's Chinatown.

Minelli says Parx isn't finished growing, with more additions expected in the spring of next year -- but she refused to elaborate on the specifics of the plans.
