Police Apprehend Suspect In Bucks County Abduction

FALLS TWP., Pa. (CBS) - The man suspected of abducting his former girlfriend from her Bucks County home was apprehended by New Jersey State Police about 9 p.m. Sunday.

According to police, 48-year-old Kenneth Lamon Patterson is suspected of abducting Diane Corado from her home in Falls Township. Police say Patterson approached the home of Corado early Sunday morning and kicked in the door at the Village of Pennbrook Apartments.

Patterson allegedly attacked Corado with a pipe, threatened her with a knife, and then forced her and her friend into Corado's 2004 black Pontiac Aztec. Police say he let Corado's friend out of the car, then drove off.

Shortly after 6 p.m., police in New Jersey received a tip from a citizen regarding the location of Corado's car which has a vanity plate that reads "DMC XOXO". Police recovered the vehicle in Camden on the 1600 block of Norris Street, but found no sign of Patterson or Corado.

Patterson was found a few hours later at Clover Motel on Route 73 in Maple Shade, N.J. where he surrendered to authorities. He is currently in custody of New Jersey Police.

According to authorities, Corado was not with Patterson at the time of the arrest. Police are still investigating her abduction.
