North American Power To Host Career Fair On City Line Avenue

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Starting on January first nearly 1.5 million residential customers in the PECO service area will be able to switch to an alternative energy supplier. And with competition comes job opportunities.

One of the energy suppliers, North American Power, will hold a career fair. The Connecticut-based company has hundreds of broker openings.

Kevin Moreno is an energy broker manager. He says the broker gets customer acquisition bonuses that range from $15-$40 for each new account:

"We actually pay them for getting the customer but we also pay them every single month that that customer remains a North American Power customer and using electricity they get paid a residual for every customer that they brought to the table that continues to use electricity with us."

The job fair is on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza located at 4010 City Avenue in Philadelphia. A $49 application fee will be charged to cover costs for a criminal background check, training and an ID badge.
