Make Time To Stretch

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Do you have muscle tightness? If you work behind a desk or if your job has you driving a great deal or rushing through airports from flight to flight, chances are quite good that you might.

The problem is that one of the best treatment for tight muscles is something you might feel short of -- time. That is because stretching and repetitive stretching might just be your best weapon.

The stretching needs to be consistent and it needs to be focused on the areas that are bothering you. For many people there can be tightness of the neck muscles and the lower back. These are common areas that take a great deal of pressure.

There is a way to make time---take a few minutes at work and stretch. If you have neck stiffness, for instance, it can be quite easy. Turn your head to the left and hold and then turn to your right and hold. Repeat it for about fifteen seconds at a time. You don't have to make a big deal about it and it is not like finding time to exercise.

Make stretching a part of your day.
