PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A man was arrested after stealing six boxes of condoms from a pharmacy in Delaware Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The incident began when suspect Eric Gamble allegedly stole the six boxes of condoms from the Happy Harry’s store located on N. Market Street in Wilmington.

Two Wilmington police officers, who were volunteering for the Salvation Army by ringing bells for their “Kettle Drive” at the corner of 9th & Market Streets, were alerted by the employees that Gamble had just shoplifted from the store.

The officers pursued Gamble on foot and eventually took him into custody. The stolen property, six boxes of condoms, was still in Gamble’s possession.

The 43-year-old Gamble, of Wilmington, was taken to police headquarters where he will be charged with theft.
