Snowboarders Take To The Slopes With Helmet Cams

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The latest trend in camcorders may find its way to a Pocono ski slope this winter. The hands free "helmet cams" seem to be the perfect fit for those who want to capture their winter expeditions on tape.

Marketing Director for Camelback Mountain Resort Megan McHugh says her staff has seen this before.

"Like every new technology with younger kids, they love to wear the helemt cam and go through the park; go on the half pipe, catch their friends in front of them or even a first person view of what is going on at Camelback Mountain Resort."

She says capturing their fun while tubing seems to be popular as well. McHugh says they don't have a problem with it as long as all concerns are addressed.

"Safety is the number one concern. We encourage it. We do have helmets for rent even if you do have your own equipment you can rent helmets here, not only for the kids but for the adults as well."
