Stores At KoP Mall Still Closed Because Of Flood Damage

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (CBS) - It's been more than a month, but the King of Prussia Mall continues to deal with the effects of water damage from a major rainstorm, as the height of holiday shopping nears. A record-setting five-plus inches of rain fell on September 30th and October 1st, inundating the Plaza at King of Prussia:

"We've been working at getting the stores restored since then."

Mall general manager Bob Hart says 123 shops were affected at the start. All but 25 -- like abercrombie kids, Cole Haan, and New York & Co. -- have since reopened. A handful have been closed ever since October 1st -- opting for a complete renovation.

Others are temporarily going dark to deal with damage:

"The effects of walking-level water -- drywall, carpet, floors.  So stores are closing for a week or two to remove that and then re-open."

With Santa on his way for photos on Saturday, they're looking for all of his helpers to be back up and running before Black Friday.
