College Basketball Preview: Drexel Dragons

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - College basketball season is about to start and the Drexel Dragons are hoping to make some noise in the CAA.

The Dragons went 16-16 a season ago. Head Coach Bruiser Flint talks about what he sees for the upcoming season:

"We return a lot of guys who played a lot of minutes. We started two freshmen last year and Chris Fouch was the (CAA) Rookie of the Year and he actually came off the bench. We have some experience. We don't have much depth, but we have some experience."

Fouch is the leading returning scorer. He poured in 11 points a game last season as a freshman. The Dragons lost leading scorer guard Jamie Harris and forward Kevin Phillip due to an off the court incident.

Looking ahead, Flint says he has high hopes for a couple of freshmen:

"(Guard) Frantz Massenat and (Forward) Dartaye Ruffin, you know have done pretty well for freshmen. I've been a little surprised about them. They play with a nice maturity. Now we've just been practicing, so I'll see when game time comes. But I'm pretty surprised about what they're doing."

Flint thinks his team has offensive potential in 2010-2011:

"We've always struggled to score offensively, but I think this might be one of my better offensive teams. I wont tell them that and I hope they aren't listening on the radio, but I think this will be one of my best offensive teams. Guys are good ballhandlers, we shoot the ball a lot better."

The Dragons open the season on November 12th on the road at Loyola.
