Races In Philadelphia Suburbs Mirror Nation-Wide Contests

(CBS) - When voters head to the polls in the Philadelphia suburbs today they will be casting ballots in some very closely watched Congressional elections.

Some political analysts say you can get a pretty good idea of how the country is voting by looking at the races for Congress in southeastern Pennsylvania. Recent polls show two of the races as too close to call.

Voters in the 8th District in Bucks County have a choice between Democrat Patrick Murphy and Republican Mike Fitzpatrick. There are also allegations on both sides of absentee ballot fraud.

The other hotly contested race is in the 7th in Delaware County where Republican Pat Meehan is battling Democratic State Rep. Bryan Lentz.

There are two other races in the suburbs: the 13th in Montgomery County where Allyson Schwartz is facing a challenge from newcomer Republican businessman Dee Adcock. And in the 6th, Republican Jim Gerlach faces Democrat Manan Trivedi.
