FREE SATURDAY SHREDDER EVENT

Just in case you didn't realize it, this is Protect Your Identity Week. O.K. I admit that it isn't as jazzy as Christmas, Halloween or the 4th of July, but hey if it gets people thinking about identity theft I'm all for it. You can't imagine the number of people that I hear from each year who are the victims of identity theft. It's staggering and the amount of time and money they have to spend to clean up the mess is amazing too.

So to hightlight the importance of identity theft Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley (CCCS) is holding a series of mini-workshops and a FREE financial document shredder event.

In partnership with Beneficial Bank, CCCS will offer secure shredder services to the public on Saturday, October 23, from 10am to 2pm at the Beneficial Bank campus located at 1901 Route 70 and Springdale Road, Cherry Hill, NJ. Shredder trucks will be stationed on site for consumers to drop off their unwanted personal financial documents. I've always said that if I can go into your trash and figure out that it belongs to you, then you aren't doing a good job of protecting yourself. I shred everything, even the labels from magazines and junk mail.

In addition to the shredder, "Protecting Your Identity" mini-workshops, facilitated by Beneficial Bank security staff and open to the public, will be held at 11:00am, Noon and 1pm at the Cherry Hill location as well.
