Gender Equality Exhibit Opens At Constitution Center

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Vision 2020, a national bi-partisan initiative, is launching in Philadelphia tonight at the National Constitution Center. The exhibit is designed to advance equality and women's leadership in America.

The exhibition in the National Constitution Center's Prosperity Hall, from the Absence of Many to the Presence of All, is a series of photographs, mixed media, and film. Rosalind Reemer is the curator:

"First of all, it celebrates the tremendous achievements of women in our past. Secondly, it looks at women of today, and third, it does sound this cautious note to let people know that equality is something that has to be fought for and earned and achieved but it also can be taken away."

The week will include the launch of a ten-year national project to promote women's leadership and gender equality by 2020, the 100th anniversary of the Equal Rights Amendment.
