Philadelphia Fashion Week Hits The Runways

Philadelphia Fashion Week kicks off Wednesday evening at the 23rd Street Armory, just off Market Street in center city.

It's the second year for the event, and Meredith Lindeman (right) says it's four days highlighting local fashions:

"Philadelphia Fashion Week is a series of runway shows.  We're showing the next season's collections from these designers, and in between the shows we have some musical performances and DJs.  And this year we have an aerialist performing."

She says this year they have also incorporated an iPhone app to help you see everything you want to:

"You pull it up and it delivers up-to-the-minute timelines of when the designers are coming on."

And, Lindeman notes, the American Red Cross's "Go Red For Women" campaign is the benefitiary of this year's event:

"It increases awareness about heart disease and strokes in women and how they're the number one and the number three killer of women in the US."
