Mt. Ephraim Man Installs Phillies Sod At Home

MOUNT EPHRAIM, N.J. (CBS) - Neighbors of a Mount Ephraim, NJ Phillies fan may be green with envy when they pass his home on Lambert Avenue. He just put the finishing touches on a Phillies logo on his front lawn.

Charlie Heald first installed a backyard shrine earlier this year, a $175 two by two foot piece of grass that was actually laid in and cut from Citizens Bank Park. Then, he bought 1,200 square feet of sod for his front lawn at 85-cents a square foot, which is much like wearing a replica jersey:

"It's the same sod that is used at Citizens Bank Park. It's the actual sod that they would send to the park."

His nephew, a professional landscaper, called the thick, vibrant Kentucky blue grass the best sod he's ever seen. And his latest addition, on the front lawn is next to his driveway:

"I also was able to obtain from the same folks, stadium associates, a Phillies lawn logo."

It's a big Phillies P in red on a white outline. Stadium associates' David Andres says his firm also just donated about 400-square feet of the original ballpark used grass to Harry Kalas' gravesite:

"So it's like a grave blanket by Harry Kalas' gravestone at the Laurel Hill cemetery."
