Love Park's Visitor Center to Become a Branch Office

There's a little bit of love coming to the eyesore of a visitors' center in Love Park (JFK Plaza).

KYW's Mike Dunn reports
that visitors' center, shaped like a flying saucer, closed in 2001 when the Independence Visitors' Center opened in the historic district.  It later reopened to promote Fairmount Park, causing some confusion -- and some inconsistent information -- between the two centers.

Now, though, the Independence Visitors' Center is going to operate the Love Park site, according to CEO James Cuorato:

"It brings a consistent brand and a consistent level of service to both locations.  It opens up a new market of visitors to Philadelphia who might not be making their way down to the historic area."

It will also mean expanded hours for the center, and the ability to buy tickets for many attractions that you cannot now purchase at Love Park.
