Concussion Concerns As Football Season Begins

The news of former Eagle's fullback Kevin Turner developing symptoms of Lou Gerig's disease as a result of concussions in his football career raises the question: just how much damage are athletes doing to themselves with repeated concussions.

KYW's Dr. Brian McDonough reports clearly there has been a great deal of attention paid to concussions in the past few years.  But with football season starting throughout the Delaware Valley, coaches and parents alike need to understand the importance of quick evaluations of concussions and the importance of follow-up.

Remember, it's not just football.  Other sports can have head trauma and need to watch closely.
