On Rittenhouse Square, A Big Toast to Pa. Wines

Several hundred people gathered at Devon Seafood Grill this weekend to try and break a world record.
KYW's Hadas Kuznits was there for the big toast.

"Raise your glasses in honor of all the folks living their passion every day, to bring us the award-winning wines we all enjoy. Cheers!"

"CHEERS!"

Several hundred people gathered on Rittenhouse Square to enjoy a glass of wine in an attempt to break into the Guinness Book of World Records:

(Kuznits:) "How many people do you need to raise a glass in order to break the record for the biggest toast?"

(Mebert:) "I think the record is presently 13,000. But this is going on all across the state."

Matt Mebert is managing partner of Rolling Barrel Events:

"We're a very large producer as far as the states, I think we're top 5 -- and another thing that's lost in our difficult liquor laws for PA to get wine out of the state as well. So we're trying to raise awareness about it, let people know, hey, Pennsylvania has a lot of wine drinkers and a lot of great wine producers as well."
