Ballistics Confirm Camden Man Killed by Police

One year later, Camden law enforcement officials confirm what was believed all along -- the bullet that killed a man in his Pleasant Street home came from the barrel of a cop's gun.

KYW's Jim Melwert reports that in early August of last year, police say Jose Feliciano shot 16-year-old Ramon Roman inside a home along the 3100 Pleasant Street in Camden.

Camden County prosecutor's office spokesman Jason Laughlin says when police arrived, Feliciano opened fire at them. And when police returned fire, neighbor 68-year-old Juan Lopez was killed by a bullet:

"There was ballistics test done on the bullet that hit him, and it was from a Camden police officer's weapon."

Laughlin says his office is cooperating with the Attorney General's office as the investigation continues. Part of that investigation -- which he wouldn't elaborate on -- is why police fired at Lopez's home.
